Bioseg reduced the number of risk incidents by 30.68% using the INFLEET Super App

Bioseg

The company, which specializes in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management, develops and implements customized solutions for corporate risk management.

For this reason, it also needs to set an example for others and prioritize the safety of its employees.

The biggest challenge was tracking its fleet data

The main objective was to track various vehicle metrics and the drivers involved. Thus, the company needed to:

  • Keep track of fuel and maintenance expenses;
  • Monitor vehicles during operation;
  • Analyze drivers’ driving behavior;
  • Verify the driver’s work hours;
  • Identify the driver for each operation;
  • Manage vehicle lease terms.

Since the company had not previously used any tracking system to obtain this data, expenses were higher than desired, but they did not yet know what could be improved. Additionally, the number of rotating drivers in the vehicles is high, which consequently made it difficult to conduct a better analysis of each driver’s performance.

Tracking data on the vehicles and drivers involved was their top priority when they turned to the INFLEET Super App.

After speaking with one of our specialists, the company learned how the app would be extremely useful in their day-to-day fleet management. As a result, the following modules were implemented:

  • Monitoring;
  • Refuelling;
  • Maintenance;
  • Driver ID.

With data tracking, results were seen within the first 3 months

The main result was a reduction in the number of incidents per kilometer driven.

To provide context, km/event or kilometers driven/event is a performance metric used in fleet management to assess the safety and efficiency of operations.

It is calculated by dividing the total number of kilometers driven by the number of identified risk events. These events may include accidents, speeding, sudden braking, cell phone use while driving, among others.

The higher the number of kilometers driven without incidents, the better the performance and the greater the safety of the operation. Conversely, the lower the number of kilometers driven without incidents, the poorer the performance and the higher the risk of accidents.

In August 2023, 4,293 events were recorded, while in November, the numbers dropped to 2,976. Thus, when comparing the period from August to November 2023, the company saw a 30.68% reduction in the number of risk events.

This reduction allowed Bioseg to identify problems and trends in its operations. In order to take measures to improve safety and operational efficiency.
