The Verdes Mares Group reduced the number of incidents per kilometer driven by 49% with INFLEET

Grupo Verdes Mares

The company has been in business for 41 years, during which time it has grown so much that it has become the Verdes Mares Group. Based in Capim Grosso, it operates stores in Jacobina and Senhor do Bonfim, in the state of Bahia.

Grupo Verdes Mares operates stores and a building materials distributor, inns, furniture stores, a construction company, and a third-party freight carrier.

The challenge of monitoring driving behavior to improve driver safety

Before implementing our solution, the Group did not track maintenance or receive alerts based on mileage.

In addition to the need to control these costs, it was also necessary to monitor fuel consumption.

The Verdes Mares Group needed a tool that could show fuel expenses, generate performance reports, identify maintenance costs, pinpoint vehicles with the best/worst fuel efficiency, track preventive maintenance schedules, and manage documentation.

Since some vehicles made long trips, the group felt the need to monitor vehicle performance, driver behavior, and document management to ensure everything ran smoothly.

After learning about the INFLEET Super App, the company realized that the solution would meet the needs of its fleet.

For this reason, the Verdes Mares Group subscribed to the following modules:

  • Telemetry;
  • Maintenance;
  • Fueling.

With the data recorded in the INFLEET Super App, the Verdes Mares Group improved its results

The main result was a reduction in incidents per kilometer driven.

To put this into context, km/event or kilometers driven/event is a performance metric used in fleet management to assess the safety and efficiency of operations.

It is calculated by dividing the total number of kilometers driven by the number of identified risk events. These events may include speeding, sudden braking, among others.

The higher the number of kilometers driven without incidents, the better the performance and the greater the safety of the operation.

Within the group, these figures resulted from an analysis based on driver rankings, vehicle data, idle time, and events (speeding).

In December 2023, the group recorded 3,239 events, while in February 2024, that number dropped to 1,597. Thus, there was a 49% reduction in these events.
